Las Vegas sits with the creator of the FAMOUS exhibition "wall of $100's" artist, Michael K. Stark

Michael K. Stark is a returning artist after a 25-year absence from creating art.  Born in Los Angeles, Michael’s journey as an artist started while living in Vienna, Austria, and then stopped 11 years later in Orange County, CA.  During his first active period, Michael’s works were featured in 35 art exhibitions, 13 of which were solo shows.  His longest exhibition lasted for 11 years at Lunaria Restaurant and Jazz Bar in West LA.

Michael’s second act, as an artist, began in late 2021 when he picked up a pen and sketched the $100 bill.  That sketch gave birth to the “Wall of $100’s” series.  The Wall of $100’s is comprised of over 250 unique works on canvas.  Michael developed the Wall of $100’s to be exhibited specifically in Las Vegas. He believes that no city in the world has as unique a relationship to money as Las Vegas.  Las Vegas is a town where one can truly test the limits of money, and what can be done with it.

Throughout his artistic career, the focus of Michael’s artwork has been his obsession with money.  What is missing in his second act, however, is his over-the-top framing style.  While the whimsical framing may be sidelined for now, what remains is an artist boldly re-embracing his singularity and passion.
